Some people manage to create quite interesting pieces of art by tamingĀ the currents of the web. Back in 2006 the American artist and designer Aaron Koblin released the site www.thesheepmarket.com, which is a collection of 10 000 digitaly painted sheep facing left. All the sheep was painted online by random people earning 0.2$ for each sheep. The most fascinating part must be that he then sold them for 20$ each, and by the looks of it they are all sold out.
It’s a bit similar to the student who in 2005 created the www.milliondollarhomepage.com and sold one million pixels for 1$ each on his homepage.
Koblin has done some other projects as well, based on the same idea of crowdsourcing, which can be quite inspiring to look at on his homepage.
